How to Configure Exchange Email in Thunderbird Email Client

Microsoft Exchange server is one of the applications in business world which is widely used for emailing. Microsoft also provides Outlook email client application for synchronizing Exchange server account which allows users to access mailbox database on their system.

In the email era many emails clients are available and some of the most coveted are Mozilla Thunderbird, Entourage, and Windows Live Mail. Users can also choose to access mailbox database of EDB files other then Outlook.

In this tutorial, I’ll demonstrate entire configuration procedure how users can configure Microsoft Exchange server email into Thunderbird. Follow below mentioned simple steps which help to add Exchange server email to Thunderbird.
  • Open Mozilla Thunderbird

  • Go to “Tool” option at the top menu bar and choose “Account Setting” option

  • From the bottom left click on “Account Actions” tab and select the “Add Mail Account” option

  • Now fill required credentials (for Example)
    • Your Name: Robin Thomas
    • Email Address: rbthomas@exchange.com*
    • Password:  $08(@&@$#% (according to the easy)

Once you fill entire information then click on “continue” button for further process. In case further procedure is failed then need to follow three steps manually.
    • Incoming Setting:
    1. Choose “IMAP” and type email (email.exchange.com) in “server hosted name” tab box
    2. Select 993 in “Port” and select SSL/TLS in “SSL” tab
    3. Select Normal Password from the “Authentication” tab
    • Outgoing Setting:
    1. In the server hosted name tab type “mail.exchange.com”
    2. Select 587 port and then choose STARTTLS from the “SSL” tab
    3. Select Normal Password from the “Authentication” tab
    • Username filed:  Enter domain name

After completing entire task, click on “Advanced Configuration” tab from bottom left. Now Exchange server is configured and you can be able to access Exchange emails and mailbox folder in Thunderbird.

Export Exchange Server all Emails into .eml format & use into Thunderbird Email Client but what if the Exchange database file (.edb) is corrupted or offline

If you have offline/corrupted EDB file and  wants to convert offline EDB file emails in Thunderbird application then choose Exchange recovery software its helps to recover emails from offline EDB file and gives option to convert Exchange Server emails into EML file format. After conversion you can easily drag and drop converted EML file in Thunderbird emails client.
